My Story
I first became interested in hypnosis because of its focus on exploring and resolving the unconscious basis of a wide range of mind-body issues. Like many others who have experienced hypnotherapy, I found it to be a life affirming and healing process. Since then I have been fascinated and amazed by the power of hypnosis to bring about positive and lasting changes in health and well-being.
Revitalised and enthused by this natural method of self enhancement, symptom management and healing, I began a course of professional, postgraduate training, in Clinical, Hypnotic Techniques and Psychotherapeutic Approaches, with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, from where I qualified with distinction in 2015. I then set up my hypnotherapy practise in Hinckley. I currently see patients from Hinckley, Leicester, Leicestershire and Warwickshire.
During my time with the LCCH, I received the latest training in the treatment of a comprehensive range of clinical and non clinical issues, and undertook extensive, specialist research into current evidence-based therapies for anxieties, specific phobias, and bodily focussed repetitive behaviours - including nail-biting. I am a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, which obligates me to practise in accordance with their rigorous frameworks, codes of conduct, and requirements for continuing professional development.
My other working roles have given me well over a decade's experience of empowering people of all ages in therapeutic, one to one support, and educational settings. My time as a teacher and lecturer gave me a first hand appreciation of the effects of a high stress working environment on the mind and body; experiences I draw upon in my hypnotherapeutic practise to help others being about positive and lasting change.
