Confidence & Self Esteem
If you lack confidence generally, or with regard to a single issue, then you will be aware of how this can interfere with your day to day activities and personal development.
Low confidence can variously affect employment, social activities, performance in pressure situations, relationships and many other activities that are necessary for effective daily functioning.
The difference between confidence and self-esteem is not always obvious; however, if you are generally self-assured in your day-to-day life and are only unconfident about a single issue, this is unlikely to be related to the issue of low self-esteem.
Low self esteem is essentially a low estimation of self-worth, and its effect is a persistent lack of confidence in many areas of life. Low self-esteem may, for example, give rise to expectations that things will always go wrong, or that rejection will be the norm. It may also manifest as a belief and feeling that ‘whatever I do will be a waste of time’, or that ‘nothing I do is good enough’.
Bringing about lasting improvements in levels of confidence and raising levels of self-esteem sits at the very heart of hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy for confidence and self-esteem forms an integral part of treatment for many of the issues that clinical hypnotherapists help with.
